Most technology decisions are cheapest to fix before anything is bought, moved, replaced or signed.
We help plan changes, run migrations, weigh up purchases, choose between vendors, and work out what should happen over the next few years rather than the next few weeks. Sometimes that is one decision. Sometimes it is the whole roadmap.
We will also tell you when we think a plan is a bad one. That is usually worth more than polite agreement followed by an expensive lesson.
Forensics is investigative work on computers, systems and the information they hold. It is a different job from keeping a business running, and it is treated as one.
The retainer is $10,000. The rate is $1,000 per hour.
Those numbers are published because you should not have to ask. The work involves careful examination, preserving things properly so they still mean something later, and writing down plainly what the evidence does and does not show.
Before anything starts we agree what is being examined, what question needs answering, and what actually exists to work from. What we will not do is promise that the evidence will land where you would prefer. The job is to find out and tell you.
Day-to-day IT keeps things running. Forensics works out what already happened, or what is being disputed. The underlying skills overlap. The engagements do not, and mixing them up serves nobody.
Cheaper than bringing us the aftermath, though we handle that too.
