Extra work that missed the invoice.
Project emails and field reports were matched against change orders and job-cost records.
The contractor reviewed the findings, got the extra work approved and billed, and collected about $148,000 that had gone unbilled.
How it worked
A midsize general contractor was busy, and several finished jobs still came in with disappointing margins. Management blamed estimating or material prices. We went through Procore change orders, RFIs, field directives, superintendent reports, subcontractor invoices, project emails and Sage job-cost records. AI caught references to extra work, owner-directed changes and field conditions that showed up in correspondence but had no approved change order or bill behind them. That came to about $310,000 in possibly unbilled work. The contractor confirmed entitlement, documentation and notice on each item, got about $175,000 in additional billings approved, and collected about $148,000.
