Not sure you should switch? Five questions to ask your current IT company.

  1. Have you seen a backup come back? Not “it’s backed up.” A real file, restored, in front of you.
  2. Do you own the keys? Your domain, your email admin, your firewall. In your company’s name, with the passwords in your hands.
  3. Who answers when you call? Someone who knows your name and your setup, or a queue.
  4. Has anything gotten better this year? Besides the bill.
  5. Do they get paid for what they recommend? Ask. Commissions explain a lot of advice.

Worth asking whether or not you ever call us. Get a second opinion.

From a first conversation to a working relationship

Understand the people, the plan and the cost before deciding.

  1. Talk through your situation

Tell Billy what is working, what is frustrating, and what you would like to improve. We’ll explore whether we can help and what a sensible next step would be.

  2. Take a first look

If it makes sense to continue, we arrange a first look at your business and systems. Trevor or Jack often visit while Billy joins remotely; the arrangement depends on your situation and timing.

The first look is read-only. Nothing changes without your OK.

  3. Understand the proposal

Once we understand your business and systems, we explain what working together would include and what it would cost. The proposal reflects your situation.

  4. Put the handoff in order

Your passwords, licenses, domains and documentation belong in your name and under your control. We organize and protect that access as part of the handoff.

With or without your old provider’s help

We work with your existing provider when they cooperate. If they don’t, we work directly with the relevant vendors to recover control. We document the setup as we go.

You never pay two IT companies at once.

We don’t charge up front, and our work starts the day your old provider’s stops.

No onboarding fee. No contract keeping you here. Calling us for help or advice doesn’t increase the monthly amount.

How we charge How we look after the day-to-day Mac and Apple support

Not what we described? Walk away.

If your first 90 days with us aren’t what we told you they’d be, we’ll work with your next IT provider to make the handoff orderly. You leave with every password, document and setting we hold for you, handed over at no extra charge. No contract to break.

Moving offices?

A move touches the internet connection, phones, network, cabling and the systems your people use. We plan and manage that work as your IT company, so the people who help set up the office are the people who look after it afterward.

Phones, cabling and the new office

Your phone numbers come with you. Ported and kept, they stay yours.

Where cabling is needed, we bring in a licensed low-voltage installer and manage the work.

Bring the questions you have.

We’ll help you understand the possibilities and whether we would work well together.

There are four of us, and we like it that way. Taking on a new client is real work, and the clients we already have come first. Once you’re a client, that includes you.

Billy reads these himself. You’re welcome to ask while you’re still exploring, including before involving the owner.
